Wendell Roy Jasper

FORT LORAMIE — Wendell Roy Jasper, 72, of Fort Loramie, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at 6 p.m., at his residence. He was born on Dec. 25, 1941, in Ansel, Ky., the son of the late Raymond and Bonnie (Dunsbar) Jasper. He was married to Iva Smith, who preceded him in death in 2008.

Wendell is survived by his two children; Scott (Terry) Jasper of Piqua and Wendy (Shane Norris) Jasper of Ft. Loramie, two grandchildren; Cortney and Haley Norris, both of Ft. Loramie, three step-grandchildren; Ronette Davis of Piqua, Brandon Hartzell of St. Louis, MO., and Gabriel Hartzell of Piqua, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and eight siblings; Helen (Jack) Tussey of Danville, Ky., Karen (Carl) Lawless, Floyd "Buster" Jasper, both of Summerset, Ky., Gary Jasper of Lancaster, Ky., Cecil Jasper of Willard, David Jasper of Eubank, Ky., Janet (Harold) Williams of Goodland, Ind., and Donnie Jasper of Summerset, Ky. He was preceded in death by one sister, Loretta Brooks and one brother, Robert Jasper.

Mr. Jasper was the owner and operator of Wendell's Lawncare in Fort Loramie. He had been providing lawncare service for nearly 20 years. He was also retired from Peerless Food Equipment in Sidney. Wendell enjoyed his daily routine of meeting up with friends at 47 Bar and Grill. He loved his dog, Tiger, and he loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at noon Monday at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., with Pastor Earnie Jones officiating. Burial will be at Shelby Memory Gardens in Sidney, Ohio. The family will receive friends rom 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Memorials may be made to the College Fund for Cortney & Haley Norris in memory of Wendell Roy Jasper.
