COVINGTON — Jack D. Farling, 83, of Pleasant Hill, died Saturday, May 10, 2014 in Covington. He was born Dec. 30, 1930, in Sulphur Springs, to the late Daniel Webster and Gyneth (Grim) Farling.

He was a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1949, where he was a part of their first football team. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, drove a semi truck for many years, loved sports and anything John Deere.

Preceded in death by his parents; wife of 43 years, Mary Alice "Mickey" Farling in 2013; sons, Randy and Jeff Kellar; and daughter, Sandra Houshel.

Jack is survived by 6 children, Debbie (Gary) Maier of Covington, Brenda Nelson of Pleasant Hill, Debbie Priest of Troy, Bruce (Leslie) Farling of Pleasant Hill, Kim (Randy) Kelly of Laura, and Christian Nelson of Pleasant Hill; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Huffziger of Florida; and other relatives and friends.

Memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington, with Pastor Ralph Schaafsma officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday. If desired, contributions may be made the VFW, 173 N. High St, Covington, OH 45318.
