MINSTER — Jerry Carney Robbins, 72, of Minster, passed away unexpectedly at home, at 2:02 p.m., of natural causes, Friday, May 16, 2014.

He was born Nov. 10, 1941, in Troy to the late Edward and Katherine (Brown) Robbins.

He is survived by two children, Sherri Robbins of Sidney and Jerry D. Robbins of Minster; two grandchildren, Cody (Amber) Keith of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and Katie (Ben) Hanicq of Ohio City; two great-grandchildren, Ariel and Nathan Keith; four step grandchildren, Kalieb, Draven, Albre, and Taylor Hanicq.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Charlie, Clarence, Gene, Oscar, Jack, Dale, and Tom Robbins; and two sisters, Thelma Overholser and Ann Westerheide.

Mr. Robbins was a retired carpenter. Jerry loved spending time with his family and loved telling stories. He was an avid outdoorsman, particularly enjoying hunting and fishing. He had also been a serious NASCAR fan, rooting for his favorite driver, No. 24, Jeff Gordon.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Gehret Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Brent Driver will officiate. Burial will follow at Pioneer Cemetery, Ft. Loramie. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
