PIQUA — Doris E. Clark, 75, of Piqua, went to be with the Lord at 12:05 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Piqua Manor Nursing Home, Piqua. She was born in Harvey, Il., on July 18, 1938, to the late Peter and Dena (Vogel) Schepel. She married Lester L. (Pete) Clark on July 19, 2008, in Hammond, Ind. He preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 2013.

Doris is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: David and Shanan Fennema, Western Springs, Il.; two daughters and a son-in-law: Dawn and Charles Geschiere, Sterling, Va., and Deanne DeBoer, Naples, Fla.; three step-children: Mark and Rhonda Clark, Mount Vernon, Lois Etienne, Port Orchard, Wash., and Carol and Brian Barnier, New Fairfield, CT.; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Richard and Gert Schepel, Dyer, Ind., and Donald and Betty Schepel, St. John, Ind.; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Bernice and Jake Dykstra, Dyer, Ind., and Norma and Jim Deckker, Lansing, Il.; eleven grandchildren: Scott and Carla, Abby, Samuel, Elisabeth, Aaron, Lydia, Grace, Logan, Tyler, Chloe and Carter; and one great grandson: Hayden. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Fennema and one sister: Kay Griffioen.

Doris graduated from Illiana Christian High School. She was a member of the Piqua Church of the Nazarene. She was a waitress for many years at Golden Crown Restaurant and an administrative assistant for over ten years. Doris loved to cook, bake, watch birds, playing the piano and singing hymns. She was a beloved mother , wife, grandmother and friend.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, which would have been her 76th birthday, at the Piqua Church of the Nazarene, 400 S. Sunset Drive, Piqua, with Pastor Steve Spoon officiating. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher, OH. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua.
