PIQUA — Maxine I. Silvers, 96, of Piqua, died at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at the Koester Pavilion. She was born March 29, 1918, in Piqua to the late John Calvin and Harriet (Shellenbarger) Huffman. She married Robert E. Silvers on Sept. 1, 1934, in Piqua; he preceded her in death Feb. 22, 1989, following 54 years of marriage.
Survivors include two sons, Edward (Hilda) Silvers of Piqua, James R. (Pat) Silvers of Fletcher; three daughters, Jean Adkins of Troy, Joan Broyles of Pelham, Ala., Lois A. (Arthur) Albaugh of Laura; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, seven brothers and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Silvers attended Piqua Central High School and was a wonderful homemaker. She is a member of the Victory Baptist Church, and the Benevolent & Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #523 Auxiliary. She will be missed by her loving family.
A service to honor her life will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Andy Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Miami County Hospice, Inc., P. O.
