TROY - Samuel Eugene Kuntz, 66, of Troy, passed away on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at his residence. He had been bravely dealing with brain cancer since Jan. 2014. Sam was born in Troy on Sept. 17, 1947, to the late Willard and Cathern (Denlinger) Kuntz.
Sam is survived by three sisters and brothers-in-law: Nancy and Harold Garber of Bradford, Kathleen and Kenneth Miller of Pleasant Hill and Ruth Ann Kuntz of Troy; and one brother and sister-in-law: Roger and Martha Kuntz of Covington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one nephew: Lowell Kuntz; and one great nephew: Adam Landes.
Sam was a 1965 graduate of Troy High School. He was a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church in Maple Grove District. Sam retired from Crayex Corp., in Piqua after 42 years of service.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Old German Baptist Brethren Church in the Maple Grove District, 7524 Agenbroad Road, New Carlisle, with Ministers Ron Crist, Kendall Nicodemus and Lloyd Bayer officiating. A special Prayer Service will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday at Baird Funeral Home, in Troy, with great nephew Chris Garber officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service in Maple Grove Cemetery beside the church. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Baird Funeral Home, in Troy.
