PIQUA - Judith K. Lumpkin, 73, of Piqua, died Oct. 29, 2012, at 2:48 p.m. at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Piqua on July 27, 1939, to the late Willard and Mildred (Cavanaugh) Gilland. She married Richard J. Lumpkin on Aug. 31, 1997, and he survives.
Judith is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Jay Nickle of Sedalia, Mo., Kimberly and Bruce Bockrath of Maria Stein, Kris and Chris North of Fletcher, and Darla Herbst of Piqua; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Kellie Pierce of Fletcher and Michael and Cindy Lumpkin of Piqua; one brother, Wilson Gilland of Cincinnati; and one sister, Barbara (Gilland); 12 grandchildren, Kasie, Kyle, April, Dusty, Amanda, Brooke, Adam, Lindsey, Shelby, Ashley, Cody, and Cheyanne; and seven great-grandchildren, Travis, Dalton, Peyton, Carter, Brooklyn, Bailey, and Bekah.
Judith graduated from Piqua Central High School in 1957. She loved to go shopping, collect Precious Moments, play Bingo and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved her dogs. Judith went on many vacation trips with her husband Dick. Judith worked for Stolle Corporation in Sidney, as a supervisor in shipping and tool room for more than 30 years and retiring in 2001. She also worked for Ohio Bell Office and Miami County Crisis Center for several years.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua, with the Rev. Donald Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
