PIQUA - Gerald L. Boeke, 52, of 622 W. Greene St., Piqua, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Dec. 24, 2012, at his residence.
Gerald was born Oct. 17, 1960, in Hazard, Ky., to the late Virgil and Edna (Paulus) Boeke. He was married to Sharon Lynn (Spencer) Boeke on May 24, 1981, and she survives in Piqua.
Also surviving is one son, Thomas and his wife Amy Boeke, of Piqua; one daughter, Danielle Boeke and her fiance' Josh Chaney, both of Piqua; grandchildren, Tamarra Albert, Tevin Albert, Bryce Albert, Quinnton Albert, Miiah Albert, Macy Boeke, Trista Boeke, Zachariah Boeke, and Riley Boeke; one sister, Karen and her husband Rick Westerbeck, of New Bremen.
Gerald had worked for the Schafer Dairy Farms in Russia as a milk hauler. He loved the out of doors. He loved to go camping, was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also had a passion for collecting guns. Gerald was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. As a youth, he shared a passion for professional wrestling with his grandpa, which also carried on as an adult.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Beechwood Cemetery, Lockington.
Friends and family may gather from 6-8 p.m. today at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Adams Funeral Home to help defray funeral costs. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
