COVINGTON - Irene Louise Cavender, 87, a resident of Covington since 1949, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at the Covington Care Center.
She was born Feb. 2, 1925, in Sidney, to the late Earl and Ethel (Ater) Bainter.
She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, Post 4235, Covington. She enjoyed bowling and playing BINGO.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Cavender in 1961; two sons, Thomas Cavender and Melvin Cavender; and twin sister, Lucille Bainter.
Irene is survived by her son, Tim Cavender of Troy; two grandchildren and their spouses, Stephanie and Shawn Grimes of Alaska and Melvin "Eddie" and Kathy Cavender of Washington; one great-granddaughter; sister, Leora John of Sidney; and other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington. Interment to follow at Wheelock Cemetery, Nashville. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
