Arthur L. Kay, a long time resident of Boulder, Colorado passed away peacefully from natural causes on March 10th, 2013. Art was born in Buffalo, New York on June 16th, 1925. As a young man Art spent 3 years in the US Navy during World War II. Upon return to the states he married his high-school sweetheart Lorraine and they recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Art and Lorraine raised 6 children, lived in Buffalo and Los Angeles, and finally settled in Boulder. Art enjoyed a long career in the Aerospace industry and especially liked working on NASA
science missions and Space Shuttle programs. While working, Art earned his Bachelor Degree in Physics from the University of Colorado. After retiring from Ball Aerospace Art enjoyed Boulder and traveled to visit children. Some of Art's favorite activities were hiking, swimming and dancing. He also had a passion for studying life sciences. Art's work ethic, determination, and critical thinking skills inspired those around him. This was balanced by his great sense of humor, compassion, and appreciation of the natural world. Arthur is survived by his loving wife, 6 children, 6 grandchildren, and a great-grand child. He will be dearly remembered and deeply missed. Family is holding a private celebration of life. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.
