Betty O'Connell

Betty A. O'Connell, 94, a resident of Louisville, CO, died Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Juniper Village Memory Care in Louisville. A Celebration of Betty's life will be held Saturday March 9, 2013, at 2PM, followed by a light reception at Spice of Life Events Center, 5706 Arapahoe Avenue, Boulder, CO 80303. Betty Bloom was born in June of 1918 in Indianapolis, IN to Charles and Elizabeth Bloom. She attended Arsenical Technical School and business college in Indianapolis, IN. She married Richard O'Connell in 1941; and when he was drafted to serve in World War II, she took over his job as an outside sales person for Indianapolis Office Supply Company. She continued selling office supplies for a total of 50 years, taking off several years to raise her two daughters, Phyllis and Carol. Betty retired from Corporate Express in Indianapolis in June of 2005, and the next month moved to an Independent Living facility, the Atrium, in Boulder Colorado, with her 2 cats. Betty was a happy and good natured person; and always kept her sense of humor and zest for life. Betty is survived by her two daughters, Carol O'Connell of Coconut Creek, FL and Phyllis O'Connell of Boulder, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Charles.
