Harriett Hatt

Harriett Hatt was born in Capron, Illinois the daughter of Harry and Anna Benson on August 18, 1918. She died February 27, 2014 at the age of 95. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in English and Latin and a masters in Library Science. Harriett taught school in Wisconsin, Illinois, Delaware, South Dakota and Colorado. She was the librarian at Crestview Elementary School for 24 years. She met her husband Larry when he was attending the Japanese Language School at CU during World War II. He died in 2003. Survivors include her daughter Susan Lock (Robert) of Longmont; grandsons Joseph Lock (Melissa) of Minneapolis, MN and Michael Lock (Briana) of Longmont, CO; step-granddaughter Cindy Bratcher (James) of Berthoud, CO; and 5 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boulder, at 2pm on April 2. Any donations in her memory are gratefully directed to Trinity Lutheran Church.
