James Wibby

James E. Wibby, 89, of Traverse City, MI, formerly of Boulder, passed away on February 13, 2014. Jim was born in Detroit on November 7, 1924 and married Betty Rogers in 1948. She preceded him in death.

Jim served in WW II as a combat infantryman. He was decorated with a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. Jim graduated from Wayne State University and from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. During his banking career he served in executive positions at Manufacturers National Bank in Detroit and as President of Metropolitan National Bank in Farmington, MI. He was a founding director and past president of the Michigan Community Bankers Association.

Jim and Betty were proud parents of two sons Jim (Sandy) of Petoskey, MI, Chuck (Phyllis) of Boulder, four grandchildren Katie (Nick) of Traverse City, MI, Brian (Beth) of Marquette, MI, Kyle of Orleans, MA, and Ryan of Boulder and three great grandchildren Mateo, Juniper and Kahlil of Marquette.

A memorial service will be held February 21 at Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home www.reynolds-jonkhoff.com. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you treat a vet to lunch or dinner in Jim's honor or make a donation to your favorite veteran's charity.
