Kevin Burns

Kevin Fitzgerald Burns, 49, of Longmont passed away February 5, 2013 at Longmont United Hospital. He was born September 30, 1963 in West Orange, New Jersey to William and Frances (Lovett) Burns. Kevin graduated from Boulder High School in 1983. He joined the United States Navy and served sixteen years that included two wars both in active duty and the Naval Reserves. He was a Chief Petty Officer at the time of his death. Kevin also was a self-employed house painter, and the past three years worked for CU in facilities maintenance. Kevin married Julie Curran on April 16, 1994 in Galveston, Texas, he was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and was a Boy Scout leader. He was preceded in death by his father William. Kevin is survived by his wife Julie of Longmont, a son Bryan Burns and a daughter Caora Burns both of Longmont, his mother Frances Lovett of Longmont, two brothers William Burns and Gerald Burns, two sisters Debbie Burns and Sandy Burns. Visitation will be 5:30 PM to 8 PM Sunday Feb. 10, 2013 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel with Rosary Prayers at 7:00 PM. Mass of Resurrection will be 10:30 AM Monday Feb. 11, at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial will be 11:15 AM Tuesday Feb. 12, at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver with military honors by the United States Navy.
