Paul W. Winston, 92, a resident of Boulder died Thurs. February 21, 2013 at FrasierMeadowsHealthCareCenter. A Celebration of Paul's life will be held in the Sky Lounge at Frasier Meadows on March 10, 2013 at 2:00 PM. Reception will follow. Paul was born August 9, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois to Thomas W. & Alice (Green) Winston. He grew up in Marblehead, Mass; received his BS from UMASS-Amherst, and his Ph.D. from Northwestern University
in Evanston, Illinois. Paul married Vickie Myers on June 12, 1948 in Springfield, MA. They have been residents of Boulder for 60 years. Professor Winston taught biology at CU-Boulder from 1952-1985. He previously taught at Brown University and was twice a visiting research scientist at Cambridge University in England. Paul served in the United States Army Air Corp during WW II Survived by his wife, Vickie Winston of Boulder; daughter, Gretchen Winston May (Kenneth May) of Lakewood, CO; granddaughters, Rosalind A. May (Chappell Kingsland) of Bloomington, IN and Hilary L. May (Darryl Aucoin) of Long Island, NY.
