Richard Yordy

Richard Yordy, 94, of Boulder, passed away on October 1, 2013 at Boulder Community Hospital. He was born February 3, 1919 near Omaha, Nebraska. Following high school, he served in the United States Army during WWII. Upon his honorable discharge, he went on to attend college in electrical engineering. On February 17, 1945 he married Flobel in Indiana, and they enjoyed over 68 years of marriage. They moved to Colorado from Connecticut in 1982. Richard worked in the White House Signal Corp under President Roosevelt, and later retired from Pan American World Airways. In his retirement, he enjoyed fixing televisions, repairing radios, and working on the pool for the HOA. He made and enjoyed many good friends while living in Colorado, and thoroughly enjoyed his grandkids and great grandchildren. He attended the East Boulder Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Flobel, his daughters Lezlie and Lisa, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the East Boulder Baptist Church located at 7690 West Baseline Road in Boulder.
