Ruth Yaffe

Ruth F. Yaffe passed away at the age of 88. She was born in Chicago, Ill. to Louis and Ida Feldman. Ruth graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in social work. She loved world travel, gardening, entertaining, music, theater and the arts, and literally bumped heads in a theater with Earl Yaffe as they both reached for the program. They married April 10, 1949 and had 64 blissful years together. Ruth will be greatly missed by all her family, friends at Frasier Meadows and fellow members at Congregation Har Hashem. She was an avid participant in both her community and her temple. Ruth had an active social life but above all loved her family. She and Earl are survived by Jean Schloesslin (Mark), David Yaffe (Christie) and Don Yaffe (Nancy); her loving grandchildren, Meredith Mankwitz, Paul Lippitt, Brett and Lake Sharp, and Paris Yaffe; as well as great-grandchildren Elise and Anna Mankwitz, and Bennet Lippitt. A private memorial will be held for her on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at David Yaffe's home.
