I just learned of Steve's passing today and am truly saddened. I met Steve when I had the honor of playing oboe on his Impressions of the Rocky Mountains CD in the 1990's. I absolutely loved his beautiful music and working with him in the studio to produce the CD was a highlight of my career. My impression of Steve was that he was just like the music he wrote: sincere, rich spiritually, warm and kind. I am listening to his Impressions CD right now and thinking that the world was made a better place with his gift of music he will live on through the gorgeous compositions he wrote. RIP, Steve.

My heart aches to find out about Steve's passing almost four years after the fact! I remember playing second violin to his concert master at Boulder High, hearing about some of his college life, and especially attending his record release party at Boulder's Coast. I was blown away by both his composing talent and his modesty - he seemed surprised when we applauded, like he was grateful that we liked his music. I lost touch with Steve after that but thought of him fondly each time I heard his music played at a mall, while on hold, and each time I played the CD I personally have. I kept meaning to get in touch with him again, to request sheet music of my favorite song, but never found the time. I can't even imagine how devastating this must have been for his family and my sympathies are with every one of them. I'm glad we are at least left with memories of him and the sound of his music, which will live forever. RIP, Steve.

I first heard Steve Haun's music in 1987 I got Inside The Sky in 2002. I love his music and learned of his passing today. My heart goes to his parents and his daughter for their precious loss. Every time I listen to Journey Through The Night.... or Inside The Sky.... words cannot describe the joy I feel. Steve's music will stay with me for the rest of my days.

Yvonne,
Our hearts are breaking for you and Norman. You loved your boy so well. You have taught so many children with such dedication and kindness; you were so accepting of all the children, because you had the understanding that comes with being a Mom.
Blessings,

Norm and Yvonne, I am so sad to hear of Steve's passing. To this day the most beautiful songs that I play on the piano were composed by Steve. There is so much passion and beauty in his work. He touched many lives and will continue to do so as his music lives on. Love you guys.

On behalf of what little still remains of the Snow family (my little sister Jennifer, who still is, even tonight, Steve's very dear friend)...we three who remain: Jennifer, our mother Judith, and myself, oldest of three brothers Ken wish to express our most sincere condolences to the entire Haun family and clan...and our hope that Steve lives on in many hearts and minds through the years still to come. He himself made that possible through the gift, to all of us, of his music, and also of his friendship.
Thank you Steve, for all those fine things!
Rest in Peace.

Rest in Peace Steve. I find myself cherishing Brooke all the more now. I promise you that I will always cherish her and I will tell her the funny and wonderful things about you. There were many, many great times. I told her today I will take her to Hawaii and share the story about where her journey into this world began. I loved those good days and I loved you deeply. I will always love you for the good times and the gift of Brooke that you made with me. Watch over her as she has already begun to dance all over the world in her career. She definatly has your artistic talents! She says you're with her at dance now and she hopes you're proud of her. RIP my dear Steven. I can't put into words the pain that your passing brings me. May God be with your parents during this sad time.

This is Steve's daughter Brooke. She thanks everyone for their love and compassion. She will carry on his love for the arts. RIP Dad & Steve. B&W

It was a sincere pleasure to have known you Steve. You were a kind soul and one heck of a basketball player. I enjoyed the time we spent together back in the day on the courts up in Boulder. May you rest in peace.
