Patrick Cain Obituary

Patrick James Cain Sr., 53, of Superior, Colorado, passed peacefully into eternal life on March 14, 2016, surrounded by family and friends, after a courageous, 19 month, battle with Lung Cancer. Pat was born on October 1, 1962 in Denver, Colorado to Jim and Cora (Stumpf) Cain, and grew up in Arvada. He graduated from Pomona High School in 1981. During High School, Pat was a star athlete, lettering in wresting, track and football. His football career continued at Wichita State University, and after graduating in 1986 with Bachelor degree in Psychology, he continued to played professionally in both Arena and the NFL. Pat had a huge heart, infectious smile and witty sense of humor. He fiercely loved his friends, family, and especially wife and his children. He had two children; Alicia (Tyler) Stanworth of Westminster, and Patrick James (P.J.) Cain Jr., with his first wife Kristy (White) Cain. He married his wife Michelle (Bodin) Cain in 1998, and they had one daughter, Emily Cain. Throughout his life, Pat had an affinity for helping others. After college, he started working at the Cleo Wallace Center psychiatric facility for adolescents. He later earned his Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Denver in 1998, and embarked on a career as a licensed clinical social worker with Adams County Social Services. Pat also shared a passion for selling real estate together with his wife Michelle, as a Realtor® at Bodin Realty International. In addition to his family and friends, Pat loved the outdoors, traveling, sports, music, and of course practical jokes and his hidden talent for prank calls. He is survived by his wife Michelle; children Emily, Alicia and Son-in-Law Tyler; Parents Jim and Cora Cain; Sister Stephanie Cain; Nephew Zach Cain Johme; In-Laws Jim and Caite Bodin, Judy Falco; Sister and Brother in-laws Debbie and David O'Grady and Niece Juleah O'Grady and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife Kristy and his son P.J. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 18th at 11:00am at Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Broomfield. Viewing will be on Thursday, March 17th at 5:30pm and Rosary at 6:30pm at Greenwood and Myers Mortuary in Boulder. At Pat's request, in lieu of flowers, a college fund has been setup for his youngest daughter Emily. CollegeInvest FBO Account #515957228-01. Forms will be available at the funeral.
