Allen Blomquist of Boulder passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014 in Boulder. He was 89. Allen was born on October 10, 1924 to Allen and Sigfreid Blomquist in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a PhD in psychology. After graduating he was an associate professor at the university as a neurophysiologist and researcher. On December 30, 1961 he married Linda Lindegren in Rhinelander, WI. They were married for 52 years. In 1970 they moved to Treasure Island, FL where he was a professor at the University of South Florida. Allen and Linda then moved to Boulder in 1990 where he volunteered for the U.S. Forest Service. He was an avid reader of mysteries and a veteran of the military service. Allen is survived by his wife Linda, his niece Jill Weems, and 3 nephews, Greg Gailen, Tim and Steven Blomquist. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Glen Blomquist and sister Nancy Gailen.
