Broma Lou was born in Las Animas, Colorado. She attended school there. After graduation from public schools, she attended Stevens University and the University of Colorado. She majored in business education and later got a Master's in the same field. She taught first in Oregon, then Nederland and then at Fairview High School. She remained at Fairview until retirement. She was an avid and well-known bridge player for many years of playing bridge all over the U.S. and sometimes out of the country. Broma Lou Reed was the only woman in Colorado to attain the ranking of Grand Life Master in duplicate bridge, having won a National title and over 10,000 master points. Broma Lou dominated her sport in this region for many years with many partners until she retired in 2004. She will be remebered as a formidable competitor and gracious winner. She is survived by her brother, Bob Chambers of Poncha Springs, Colorado, two step-daughters, Dana Ault and Nancy Nottingham of Arizona and best friend, Richard Cowling of Boulder. At this time there are no services scheduled. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimers Assn., Colorado Chapter, P.O. Box 96011, Washington D.C. 20090-6011.
