Nadine Dart Obituary
NADINE ELAINE DART FEBRUARY 4, 1931-May 15, 2014 Nadine Dart died on Thursday May 15 in Windsor, Colorado at the age of 83 from complications due to Alzheimer's disease. Nadine was born on February 4, 1931 in Archer Nebraska and was the second daughter of Irwin and Elizabeth Moschenross. In 1941 the Moschenross family moved to Aurora, Colorado where Nadine spent most of her childhood and early adult life. She graduated from William Smith High School in Aurora in 1948. Attending the same high school was Merlin Dart who was to become her life's partner. After marriage on January 7, 1950 they made their first home in Fort Collins, Colorado where their two sons, Douglas and Kenneth, were born. They later moved to Boulder where Nadine spent the rest of her life. As a high school student, Nadine worked part time at Denver Fire Clay in downtown Denver and when a young adult, she worked at several secretarial jobs but her true devotion was to her two boys and husband. She was a Cub Scouts den mother, PTA member, and spent many hours watching her son's baseball games at Scott Carpenter Park. When Merlin was assigned a temporary position at Bell Labs in New Jersey in 1962-1963, she was introduced to a world she had never seen before in small town Colorado. This was during the height of the civil rights movement and her reaction was to teach her boys that all people are created equal and deserving of respect. Nadine was an expert seamstress, fantastic chef, enjoyed working in her garden and always had a home improvement project in the works. Her house was immaculate at all times. Her dachshunds brought endless joy into her life. She had many dear and trusted friends to include members of a pot luck group that has regularly met for 50+ years. Nadine is survived by her devoted husband Merlin, sons Douglas (Rita) of Boulder, their children Colin of Denver, Andrea of New York City as well as Kenneth (Janet) of Belize, Central America and their two young boys Kieran and Ryan. Her sister Norma Pedigo, Norma's daughter Christine, grandchildren Samantha and Jonathan, and two grandnieces all of Grand Junction, are left behind. She is predeceased by a brother in law, Ronald Pedigo of Grand Junction The family is grateful for the loving care provided by the staff of the memory care unit at Windsor Healthcare Center and AccentCare hospice in Windsor. An informal reception will be held from 2 to 4 pm, Saturday, May 24 at Greenwood and Myers Mortuary in Boulder located at 2969 Baseline Road. All arrangements have been entrusted to Greenwood and Myers Mortuary.
