Sanford "Sandy" Platter of Boulder died Friday, November 16th at the age of 73. Sandy was born in Brooklyn, New York to Murray and Ida (Epstein) Platter. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Jersey City and Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. In 1960, Sandy married Adele Meyerowitz in Newark, NJ and had two children. They moved to Boulder in 1965 where Sandy worked as an electro-mechanical engineer. He spent his career pioneering countless innovations first in the computer industry and later in the outdoor industry. Ever the passionate entrepreneur, he founded several successful companies in the Boulder area. Sandy was an avid fly fisherman, accomplished sculptor, competitive swimmer and was an active member of Boulder and Denver rugby clubs. Sandy is survived by his wife, Adele Platter of Boulder; his daughter, Bari Kaye Platter of Denver; his son, Brian Platter of Mill Valley, CA and grandchildren, Hannah Rose and Lucas David Platter of Mill Valley, CA.
