Billy Elrod, 63 of Louisville, CO passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013 at Avista Adventist Hospital in Louisville, surrounded by his family and friends, after a long, hard, and brave battle against M.S. for 32 years. Billy was born to the late Dixie and Elaine Elrod, February 20, 1949, in Louisville, CO. He graduated from Louisville High School in 1968. Billy married Paula DiCarlo on February 24, 1978, in Louisville, CO. Billy worked for the City of Louisville Recreation Department, and was a member of the Louisville Rod & Gun Club, American Legion Post 111, Tri-City Elks Lodge 2511, the Louisville Society of Italian Americans, and a past member of the Louisville Volunteer Fire Department. He coached little league baseball and was president of the Louisville Youth Baseball Association for over 20 years. He loved fishing, playing softball, and traveling to Las Vegas. He was an avid sports fan of the Rockies and Broncos, but he was first and foremost a Colorado Buffaloes fan, and would tell everyone that he bled black and gold. Billy was preceded in death by his father, Dixie; his mother, Elaine; baby son, Jason; brother, Gary; great nephew, Gregory Chandler, and numerous aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife, Paula; daughter, Billi Gene; son, Daniel Scott; brother, Duane (Shirley); sister, Dixie Martella (Ron); the DiCarlo family, who gave special love, care, and support to Billy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00am Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the Rocky Mountain Christian Church, 9447 Niwot Road, Niwot, CO, with interment to follow in Louisville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 30, from 5:00 - 7:00pm at the funeral home.
