Jeannine Peyton Obituary
Jeannine Peyton passed on due to natural causes on August 17, 2014. The daughter of Daniel Campbell and Helen Blum, Jeannine was born in Chicago and resided in the suburbs. She earned a degree in theater from Mundelein College in 1952. In December of 1953 Jeannine married Stanley Jakala and they had three children; Steven 1954, Daniel 1956, and James in 1959. She became a school teacher in the mid 1960's and continued in that field after moving to Pompano Beach, Florida in 1966. She progressed in her career, achieving the position of Head Librarian at one of the city branches. Jeannine represented the State of Florida as a Republican delegate at the 1968 and 1972 National Conventions. She relocated again in 1983 to Boulder, Colorado when she married John Peyton. She assumed a career as a Boulder city employee. As a Receptionist at the West Senior Center she considered her patrons and co-workers as second family. As a volunteer Jeannine created and presided over the Book Browsers and Mystery Musers; monthly book clubs. She was lively and quick witted. A lover of the theater Jeannine acted in, directed, and attended many live performances. Many of those who knew her believed that some of the operators at QVC and HSN knew her by name. She loved her Rottweiler's in pearls and herself in pearls. Chocolate and a cup of black coffee were constantly by her side. She also loved "The Cabin" at Glacier Lake and Boulder Canyons Red Lion restaurant. All that knew her have a fond memory of her kindness, sense of humor, love of life, and her laughter. Jeannine is survived by her sons Steven Jakala of Pompano Beach, Florida and Daniel Jakala, grandchildren Susan Jakala, Deborah Jakala, and Christopher Jakala of Kenosha, Wisconsin. The viewing will be held at Crist Mortuary on Saturday August 23rd from 4:00 PM to 7 PM. 3395 Penrose Place in Boulder The funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus located at 14th Street and Mapleton in Boulder on Monday August 25th at 10 AM.
