Anthony Del Pizzo Obituary
Anthony C. "Tony" Del Pizzo, 92, of Louisville, died Monday, November 12, 2012 in Central City, CO. Tony was born September 20, 1920 in Taranta Peligna, Italy to Nicola and Laurina (Mancini) DelPizzo. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Tony married Frances Ann Latus in Hartford, MI in 1957. He worked at Rocky Flats for 30 years as a radiation monitor, retiring in 1983. Tony was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, the Louisville Elks, American Legion and the Italian Club. He was also a member of the Rocky Mountain Battle of the Bulge Group. He was a former Louisville City Councilman from 1973 - 1979. Tony enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fixing things, scratching lottery tickets, whistling and playing his harmonica. Tony is survived by his wife, Frances, son, Dean, daughters, Lorene (Steve) Marriott, Cecilia (Leo) DiOrio, Diane (Phillip) Wallace, Knoxville, TN and Ellen (Stewart) Oasheim; 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; sister, Helen (Jack) Degenhart; Sisters-in-Law, Wanda and Lois DelPizzo; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:30pm, Sunday, November 18, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 902 Grant St., Louisville, CO. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am Monday, November 19 at the church, followed by interment in Louisville City Cemetery, 2105 Empire Rd., Louisville. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army. A reception will follow at the Louisville Elks Lodge, 525 Main Street, Louisville.
