She was born July 12, 1929, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Ross X. and Adelaide LaPorte Prestia.

Gloria was a graduate of Connellsville High School, Class of 1946. She was formerly employed by Bell Telephone and Leon's clothing store in Connellsville. She also helped in the Nationwide Insurance agency owned by her husband Victor, and later, by her son David. She served on the school council for Geibel High School. A devout Catholic, she was an active member of St. Rita Roman Catholic Church in Connellsville and its Christian Mothers organization.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Victor J. Gasbarro, in 2016, to whom she had been married for 63 years; her brothers, Ross Prestia and Michael Prestia; and her sisters, Amelia Zakour and Rita Orlando.

She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her three children, Marian Cadwallader and her husband Dale of Connellsville, James Gasbarro and his wife Beth of Fox Chapel, and David Gasbarro and his wife Lisa of Jefferson Hills. She was the proud grandmother of Kayla, Andrew, Nicholas and Julia Gasbarro and Sammy Cadwallader, all of whom she treasured. She also leaves behind her sister, Marie Tarnay and her husband Thomas, of Rome, Maine; brothers, John V. "Jack" Prestia and his wife Peggy of Atlanta, Ga., and Paul Prestia and his wife Joanne of Valley Forge; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received from 2-8 p.m. Thursday in the Vito C. Martucci Funeral Home, 123 S. First St., West Side, Connellsville, 724-628-9033. A blessing service will be held at 9:45 a.m. Friday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Rita RC Church, with the Rev. Fr. Robert Lubic as celebrant.

A committal service and interment will follow in St. Rita's cemetery.

Members of the St. Rita Christian Mothers will hold a parish wake service at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Rita R.C. Church, 116 S. Second St., Connellsville, PA 15425, in memory of Gloria P. Gasbarro.
