Rosario Garcia Vidales

Rosario Vidales passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Woodland Memorial Hospital at the age of 84 surrounded by her family. She was born in Los Angeles to Eleuterio Vega Garcia and Emeteria Magana Garcia.
Rosario was raised in Davis where she went to school with her 13 brothers and sisters. She married Federico Vidales on May 7, 1955 where they moved to Woodland and raised five children. She worked at Woodland Mercantile/Army Store, JCPenney's and Hunt Wesson until her retirement in 1992.
Rosario is survived by her son Fred (Linda) Vidales, daughters Evangelina (Carlos) Nolasco, Raquel (Huero) Mercado, Virginia (Ruben) Rodarte and Marta Vidales; brother's Joseph (Hope) Garcia, Fernando (Ramona) Garcia, Fred (Wilma) Garcia; sister's Carmen (Baltazar) Guillen, Hope Fragozo, Micaela (Rudy) Hernandez and Irene Baker. Rosario also raised five boys as her own: Ruben, Saul, Baldemar, Hugo and Javier Hernandez. Other survivors include grandchildren Grace (Ruben) Ortega, Emeteria "Tera" (Juan) Lepe, Oscar (Claudia) Villafana, Juan Carlos Nolasco, Vanessa and Ruben Rodarte, Brandon (Brittany Walker) Vidales, Jennifer Vidales, Marlene (Cesar) Corona, Omar Villafana; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Rosario was preceded in death by her husband Federico Vidales, parents Eleuterio and Emeteria Garcia, son-in-law Carlos Nolasco; and siblings Henry, Arthur, Consuelo, Mary Lou, Eleanor and Eva.
A visitation and rosary will be held from 5 to 8 p.m.,, Tuesday, Dec. 11, at McNary's Funeral Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland, with a Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday Dec. 12, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland. Interment will follow at the Woodland Cemetery, 800 West St., Woodland.

Fred and Linda, just heard about your mom. I am so sorry for your loss and I still remember how much you did for her. She was a lucky lady to have you both in her life. Prayers to all the family
