Reich, Elaine Lavonne Crandall
Jan. 28, 1935 - July 8, 2015 Elaine Lavonne Crandall Reich born on Jan. 28, 1935 in Troy, South Dakota returned home to the Lord on July 8. She leaves behind a loving family of two daughters, Debbie Reich Witham and Gina Reich Draper and son, Russell Reich. Grandmother to 16 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, Elaine devoted many hours to loving babies and sharing her love and heart. Preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert Reich; brothers, Junior and Kenney; sisters, Marie and Velna. Elaine was the youngest of five. Elaine enjoyed many years working as a teacher at Maxwell School in Woodland. She loved teaching and found her joy also in teaching Sunday School to children and watching their little lives transform and change when they too came to understand the unconditional love of Jesus. Elaine and her sweetheart, Robert, loved to travel and spent many years on the road creating adventure for themselves and their three kids. Many family trips were spent travelling from California to South Dakota to ensure the children remained connected to their family roots, grandma, grandpa and cousins. Dairy farmers from South Dakota, Elaine and Bob made sure the kids learned the lesson of hard work, but also created great memories for a lifetime. The family will attend a closed graveside service at Mary's Chapel and express their appreciation to all the friends and family who supported Elaine during her last days. Elaine's family would also like to express gratitude to Calvary Baptist Church for creating a safe and loving home for Bob and Elaine over the years to live their faith out loud.
