Arthur Joseph Malcolm, 96, of Conner, Mont., formerly of Woodland, Calif., passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 at his daughter's home in Conner. He was born March 16, 1917 in Hanford, the son of William Thomas and Clara Amelia Malcolm.
Art was raised, educated and graduated from high school in Hanford. He enlisted into the US Army in 1940 and served until his honorable discharge in 1945. Art was a highly decorated soldier, receiving a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and five Battle Stars, among many other citations. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and survived D-day at Normandy.
Art married Edna Marie Baisch on June 8, 1946 and together they had two daughters, Anita and Carrie.
Art was preceded in death by his wife, Edna in 1988; and his daughter, Anita in 1968; and numerous brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Patrick of Conner; and his sister, Virginia Rothling of Woodland.
