Dorothy Evelyn Blann(1921 - 2014)

April 18, 1921 - June 12, 2014

Dorothy Evelyn Blann, born April 18, 1923, at Fort Totten, New York, passed on June 12, in Redding. Mrs. Blann was married to Ralph O. (Pete) Blann on Dec. 28, 1944 in New York. At that time she was serving her country during WWII as a yeoman in the Navy, stationed at the Brooklyn Naval Yard. After their marriage the couple settled at the family farm in Willow Oak Park. During her life with her husband, she was a member of the Rebeccah's, auxiliary to the Odd Fellow Fraternity. She and her husband worked with the Willow Oak Volunteer Fire Department. Dorothy worked for A. Tiechert & Son as a weigh master and the County of Yolo in the Social Services Department until her husband's death in 1981. Mrs. Blann is survived by two children, Ralph T. (Ted) Blann of Roseburg, OR, and Linda S. Schuette of Redding. Also leaving, four grand children; two great grandchildren; two brothers and one sister. Mrs. Blann will be buried at Monument Hill Memorial Park, in Woodland along with her husband. Please no flowers, a gift to the would be preferred. Graveside services are pending.
