Edward Leon Hart Sr.

On Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 Edward Leon Hart Sr. passed away at the age of 53. Edward was born on Dec. 4, 1960 in Woodland. He was a graduate of Esparto High School and worked for 27 years at Leer West in Woodland as a representative technician. He was known as a wonderful, gentle man, giant soul, kind heart, who filled each day with joy and laughter. He had a beautiful smile that lit up every room he entered. Edward was known as "Big Ed' to most, but was known as "Papa Ed" to the countless children who loved him.
Edward is survived by his daughter Donna Thornburgh (Richard) of Woodland, son Edward Leon Hart Jr. (Amanda) of Esparto, father Hershel Hart of Capay, sisters Bobbie Hart (Alan) of Knights Landing, Vickie Garza (Marco) of Esparto, and Lorrie Marin (Don) of Esparto; grandchildren Amaray Bair of Woodland and Edward Leon Hart III of Esparto, Zachary Thornburgh of Woodland, and Austin Thornburgh of Woodland. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Hart and brother Denny Hart.
A vigil is being held at McNary's Funeral Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland, with the viewing held from 10 a.m. to noon, Sunday, Dec. 15, followed by a closed casket funeral at 1 p.m. A celebration of life will be held directly after the funeral at 17020 Yolo Ave., Esparto.
