James Morris Young

James Morris Young passed away from a stroke on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at age 52. Born on Jan. 30, 1959, in Bakersfield, Jimmy graduated from Woodland High School in 1977. He was on the wrestling team while he attended Sacramento City Junior College. He worked for a time on the Alaska Oil Spill. Jimmy has lived in Las Vegas for the last 20 years where he worked most recently for the Freeman Company setting up for major trade shows.
Jimmy is survived by his mother Diane Young of Woodland. He is also survived by his older brother Douglas W Young Jr. (Kathleen) from Anchorage, Alaska; sister Gail Ransdall (Lee) of Bend, Ore.; and his younger brother Michael Young of Woodland. James also leaves behind six nephews and nieces: Christopher and Cy Young of Anchorage, Tyler and Grace Young of Woodland, Jason Ransdall of La Grande, Ore., and Heather Sterling of Barrington, Ill.; two great-nieces Devon and London Young of Alaska. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jimmy was preceded in death by his Father Douglas W Young Sr., and sister-in-law Sandy Young.
A celebration of life will be held at noon, Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Woodland Hotel, 436 Main St., Woodland. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
