Joseph M. "Joe" Garcia passed away on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at the age of 76 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Woodland and was a lifelong resident of Yolo County, graduating from Esparto High School in 1955. Joe worked as a truck driver all his life and retired from BCBM in 1998 as a mixer driver.
Joe was an active member of the Woodland Carlton Club and Eagles as well as a lifetime member of the Elks. For the past 20 years he was an avid antique tractor enthusiast. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Tori, Lacy and Kylee Trujillo, Tanner and Kristin Hall; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan Beck, Ryder Covington and Colt Parker, who all knew him as "Grampy." Also surviving him are his sister Virginia Rohrer, close cousin Rosie (Harland) Banninger, and a niece and nephew, Debbie Benson and Michael Garcia. Other close family who love and will miss him include Susan Dahl and Steve Hazlip. He was preceded in death by his parents Joaquin and Louise Garcia; and a brother Bill Garcia.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 9, at McNary's Funeral Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland. A funeral service is scheduled at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Elks Lodge
