Marc W. Sandstrom

Marc W. Sandstrom died on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, while snorkeling on vacation in Maui. Born on Feb. 24, 1955, in Chicago, he was a resident of Carlsbad.
Marc received his undergraduate degree in 1956 and his law degree in 1958 from Stanford University. He worked for the state of California from 1958 to 1970, and from 1970 to 1991 as a senior executive vice president of San Diego Federal/Great American Bank. He worked as a senior vice president in legal services for Sharp Healthcare from 1991 to 1994. He also served on many boards and civic organizations. His interests included travel, sports and politics. Marc LOVED life with all his heart!
Marc is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, "Annie" (nee Hollingsworth); three sons, Bret and wife Kathy, Brad and wife Susan, Scot and wife Kim; daughter Kerri Trowbridge and husband Grady; and wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held Sunday, Sept. 22, at Solana Beach Presbyterian Church in Carlsbad. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Generation Building Campaign, Solana Beach Presbyterian Church.
