Marie Anne Froman (Schneider) died on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, in Stollwood at the age of 73 after a brief illness.
Marie was born on Oct. 21, 1939, in Woodland to the late Joseph and Margaret Schneider. She and her husband, Jim, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their family including their three sons, Terry Froman (Susan), Tim Froman (Julie), and Dennis Froman (Valerie); five grandchildren, Angie Taylor (Mark Peaslee), Jeremy Hembree (Jennifer), Shasta Bair (Kevin Craig), Kyle Froman, and Jacob Froman; and five great-grandchildren, Hannah Craig, Holly Craig, Alyssa Hembree, Braden Craig, and Blake Hembree. She is also survived by her four siblings, John Schneider (Cathie) of Granite Bay, Nancy Nolan (Richard) of Fairfield, Margie Rosasco (Phil) of Woodland, and Bob Schneider (Patty) of Woodland. She also leaves behind numerous nephews, and nieces.
Marie attended grammar school at the Holy Rosary Academy on Main Street. She graduated from Woodland High School in 1957 and attended Sacramento City College for two years. After college she held positions at the Yolo County District Attorney's Office, Yolo County Schools, Yolo County Fair Board, 4-H Extension Service, Willow Oak 4-H Community Leader, Secretary for Willow Oak Fire Department and her most loved passion as a housewife. Marie loved her family, friends and community and always put others before herself. She had a love of cooking, gardening, playing cards, traveling, square-dancing, and most of all spending time with family and friends. She will be missed by all.
A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, at Woodland Funeral Chapel, 305 Cottonwood St., Woodland, and Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 16, at Holy Rosary Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland. A celebration of life will follow at Willow Oak Hall, 17535 County Road 97, Woodland. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that remembrances be sent to Willow Oak Fire Department at 18111 County Road 94B, Woodland, 95695; the Woodland Healthcare Foundation, 1321 Cottonwood St., Suite 305, Woodland, 95695; or the charity of the donors' choice.
Woodland Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
