Ronald Louis Klohn, 73, of Dixon, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013. Ron was born on Sept. 13, 1939, in Hood. After graduating from Vacaville High School in 1957 he joined the U.S. Army
continuing in the Army Reserves and National Guard where he earned many awards and badges for sharpshooting. In 1965 he became a carpenter. He worked in construction for more than 50 years owning his own company R.L. Klohn Construction. In 1984 He realized a life-long dream to own his own "good ol boys bar" when he and two of his best friends purchased the Buckhorn Bar in Dixon, which they ran until 2004.
Ron's love of guns, hunting, fishing, vintage cars and road trips with his buddies kept him busy in his retirement. The stories Ron could tell will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.
Ron is survived by his mother Gladys Klohn, daughter Brookiejo Sagara, grandsons Eric Louis Sagara and Daniel Ryan Sagara, great-grandaughter Kendra J Sagara, who are all of Woodland; stepson Scott Vickrey and wife Anna of Virginia City, Nev.; stepdaughters Angela Vickrey of Modesto, Jill Clement and husband Dale; grandsons Richard Clement and Chucky Clement all of Granite Bay; brother Andre Klohn, nephew Sean Klohn, and niece Shantell Klohn all of Vacaville; nephew Alan Klohn of Woodland, niece Tami Crandall and husband Mark; and great-niece Danielle Crandall of Kamiah, Idaho.
Ron was preceded in death by the love of his life Mazie Vickrey, father Floyd Klohn, and brother Larry Dennis Klohn.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday March 16, at the Dixon Moose Lodge, 180 West B St., Dixon.
