Russell E. LaMoureaux, passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Woodland Memorial Hospital, at the age of 87. Russell was born in Lake City, S.D., to Arthur LaMoureaux and Ethel LaMoureaux (Benolkin); he was the fourth of 11 children. He married Marjorie June Weifenbach in 1949 and they spent 54 wonderful years together and had four children. They moved to California in 1954 where he worked as a millwright. They moved to Woodland in 1960.
He is survived by three children, LaVonne LaMoureaux and Danny LaMoureaux, both of Woodland, and Loree LaMoureaux of Roseville; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandson. He is also survived by three brothers, Bryan LaMoureaux of Crossville, Tenn., George LaMoureaux of Boron, Dean LaMoureaux of Vancouver, Wash.; and three sisters, Lucille Pobuda of Blaine, Minn., Florence Hustel of Sisseton, S.D., Ramona Henslee of Delhi, and by many nieces and nephews.
Russell was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie in 2003, and son Lyle in 1971; as well as by four brothers, Arthur LaMoureaux, Chester LaMoureaux, Jerome LaMoureaux, and Eugene LaMoureaux.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Calvary Baptist Church, 506 Cottonwood St., Woodland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Yolo County Hospice, 1909 Galileo Court, Davis, 95618.
