Teresa Marco Giraldi Burris, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013. Teresa was born on Aug. 30, 1920, to Santiago and Maria Marco. She lived in Yolo County her entire life, with the majority of her adult life spent on the Marco Ranch with her parents and daughter. She later moved to Woodland to be closer to her family. Teresa worked at the Esparto Drug Store and Syar Industries. She was a strong feisty lady with a great sense of humor. The joy and heart of her life was her family and her pets.
Teresa is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Terri and Rosendo Sanchez; grandchildren Amy and Ryan; great-grandchildren Reagan and Gabriel; nieces Nancy Damman and Linda Flippo; and her second family Ann and Franklin Burris III. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Nieves Espigares.
We thank the kind and loving staff of Alderson Convalescent Hospital who cared for Teresa. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, April 12, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., followed by a gathering at Tumulty Hall, 315 Walnut St., adjacent to the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Teresa's memory may be made to the Stone Soup Ministry at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Woodland or the .
