Carol Jean Hamilton, 80, of Vacaville, passed away of natural causes in her home on Monday, Aug. 6, 2012. She was born in Watsonville, on Nov. 26, 1931 of parents Irene and Lewis Rollin Herrick. She made her home in Vacaville in 1970.
In keeping with her nurturing and caring personality, Carol was a registered nurse for more than 40 years. She served in the United States Air Force and then at the Veterans Hospital in Martinez, where she retired after long years of serving others. After retirement her time was spent with her family, numerous hobbies and interests.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was devoted to her family, and always did her very best to let her family know how special they were. Her strength and determination were an inspiration and comfort to her family and friends, and she blessed the lives of her family and all those who knew her.
Carol is survived by her son Steven (Kimberly) Hamilton, daughters Kimberly and Dayna; grandsons Brandon, Christopher and Bryan; and great-grandson Brayden; all of Vacaville; sister Faye (Stan) Arnbrister of Chowchilla and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at a later date in Watsonville. Arrangements were by Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Carol was a dear friend since nurse's training at Highland School of Nursing in Oakland, CA 1950 to 1953. The past few years we've kept in touch via email, exchanging jokes & stories of the good old days. Our class gets smaller as the years go by. My sincere sympathies to her family.

Dear Dayna and Family,
I am deeply saddened to learn of Carol's death. We were friends for 67 years since meeting as freshmen in highschool and I loved her dearly. She was a wonderful friend.

We are so sorry for the loss of your beloved mom. It sounds as though she was a very strong & proud woman. A quality that never can be replaced. You too...have that same quality!! Our sincere condolences for ALL of you!!
