Frank Louis Haynes passed away peacefully at home with his wife Sheryl by his side on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013. He was born in Sacramento, the seventh child of 12 to Robert Orchard Haynes and Mary Martha Sommers Haynes on Oct. 3, 1937. Frank served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He valued education and completed his masters degree in social science from Sacramento State University. He taught special and general education in Woodland, as well as owning multiple businesses and restaurants.
Frank served faithfully in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; his favorites being a missionary with his wife in a church education mission in Garden City, Kan., and also a temple ordinance worker at Jordan River and Oquirrh Mountain temples.
Frank and Sheryl Haynes were sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles temple; recently celebrating their 52nd wedding anniversary. Their legacy included, children David (Kyle), Jill and Michael (Kristine); as well as grandchildren Morgan, Phillip, Nicolas, Emily, Alec, Julia and Lindsey. He was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven by his son David, as well as his parents, many brothers and sisters, and a large extended family.
A viewing was held at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20, with 11 a.m., services at the Jordan Oaks 3rd Ward at 8117 S. Leslie Drive, West Jordan, Utah. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mountain View 6th ward, c/o Nicolas Haynes missionary fund; 2221 W. Williamsburg Circle, West Jordan, Utah, 84088.
