Arnulfo Lopez Meraz died peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at age 83, leaving behind a loving wife Melania Lopez Campos of 46 years as well as four sons and one daughter: Jorge, Reuben, Roberto, Victoria and Hector; as well as grandchildren Alberto Lopez, Alex Lopez, Angelica Lopez, Isabel Lopez, Lizzette Lopez, Melissa Lopez, Natalie Lopez,Miguel Angel Lopez, Pepito Hernandez-Lopez, Reuben Jr. Lopez, Veronica Lopez, Victor Lopez.
Arnulfo was born in Las Truchas Durango, Mexico, on Aug. 15, 1929. He came to The United States in 1949 with dreams of saving enough money to return and buy a beautiful horse. He accomplished much more helping his mother and siblings back home. He worked as an irrigator in Yolo County for almost 40 years. Most of this time for Hardwick Farms.
Later in 1987 he began working together with his son Robert to start Lopez Quality Auto Body & Truck Painting Inc. Even in his last days he enjoyed helping around the shop and doing everything he could to help in the business.
Arnulfo also loved animals and every day he would tend to his cattle and horses. It was his favorite hobby. Those who knew Arnulfo knew him as a hard working man. His passion was to work hard and provide for his family. He was outgoing, very humble, social able and respectable. He was always there for his family. We always knew we could count on him for anything. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
