Aurelia Ruiz de Gonzalez of San Juan Jaripeo, Guanajuato, Mexico, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2012 at Woodland Memorial of natural causes. She was 84.
A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Woodland Funeral Chapel, 305 Cottonwood St. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Woodland Funeral Chapel.
Aurelia was born in San Juan Jaripeo, Guanajuato, Mexico on April 1, 1928.
Aurelia was married to Nemesio Gonzalez for 33 years before his passing in 1982.
Aurelia worked for The Contadina Tomato Plant from 1970-1981. She enjoyed doing yard sales and working at her market stand in Mexico City. She was also actively involved in the Catholic church.
Aurelia is survived by her six children (and in laws) Sacramento (Petra), Alex (Gabriela), Ramon (Evelia), Maria Refugio (Juan), Maria Soledad (Jose), and Maria Transito. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren: Martin, Maricela, Esmeralda, Adan, Belen, Israel, Jazmin, Brenda, Emily, Evelin, Jose, Gabriel, Abraham, Marcos, Daniel, Thanh; and four great-great grandchildren: Destiny, Donald, Anahi, and Izabella. Aurelia is also survived in Mexico by her brothers Juan and Francisco and one sister Refugio.
Aurelia's remains will be taken to Mexico City following the memorial.
