Bill Thomas Simpson Obituary
Bill Thomas Simpson
Nov. 25, 1935 - Dec. 29, 2012

Born Nov. 25, 1935 in Maud, Okla., Bill Thomas Simpson went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012.
Bill graduated from San Luis Obispo University in 1961 and immediately went to work at Edwards Air Force Base to work on The Mercury Project. Afterwards, he worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a soil engineer in El Centro. He retired from his career with the USDA as the head of the computer department in Davis.
Bill's passions were flying his '46 Navion, genealogy, writing and travel. Bill and his wife Florence visited at least 16 countries – some of them in the Navion. Bill wrote three books about his family history. He was proud to belong to the Sons of the American Revolution and have five relatives who served in the American Revolution.
It was a sad day when Bill had to give up flying and driving due to Alzheimer's Disease, but he retained his wit and humor for a long time.
Bill was the beloved husband of Florence for 35 years, and a loving father to Ronald, Michael, Carol and Mark. He was a caring step-father to Diane, Peter and David. Bill's grandchildren are Heidi, Alexandria, Seth, Sophia, Hannah and Ella. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Erma Lee and Bill Andrew, and two sisters, Glenda Fern and Bobbie Jean.
Special thanks to the staff of St. John's Manor West, Yolo Hospice and Dr. Paul Reynolds of Kaiser, Sacramento.
Services will be announced in the near future.
