Catherine Patricia 'Pat' Kauderer
Nov. 9, 1934 - Feb. 27, 2013
Catherine Patricia 'Pat' Kauderer passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at the age of 78.
A native of San Francisco, Pat was born on Nov. 9, 1934, to Thomas and Anne Huvane. Pat graduated from St. Mary's College of Nursing in 1955, and began her long career as a registered nurse. She served her community working at several local healthcare facilities, but spent the majority of her career at Yolo General Hospital.
Her generous spirit and lifelong passion for helping others are reflected by her dedication to causes that assist the ill and those in need, such as Yolo Hospice, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and several other organizations.
Pat was a long time member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and she will be missed by her Parish community that meant so much to her.
Pat is survived by her children Chris Kauderer and wife Shari of Carmichael, Colleen Westaby and husband John of Susanville, and Caren Galloway and husband Dan of Loomis. She also is survived by the 'lights of her life," her grandchildren Maggie Kauderer, Mollie Kauderer and Jack Galloway. Her brother Thomas Huvane also survives her, as well as several nieces and nephews. Pat is preceded in death by her beloved husband Dave Kauderer, and her sister Mary Flaherty.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, especially Rosa Gonzalez, Maricela Aguayo and Belehn Lopez, whose loving care over the past few years allowed Pat to continue to do all of the things that were important to her.
A celebration of life memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 8, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland. A reception will immediately follow at the Tumulty Hall, 315 Walnut St., next to the church. Internment will be at the Sacramento Valley VA Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, at a later date. Donations in Pat's memory may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, Yolo Hospice, or a charity of the donors' choice. We love you Mom, and you will be forever in our hearts.
