David Herbert Goeman Obituary
David Herbert Goeman
Sept. 2, 1939 - May 22, 2013

David Herbert Goeman, 73, died peacefully at his home in Esparto on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, with his loving Marlene by his side. He was born in Minneapolis, Minn., on Sept. 2, 1939, to Heye and Esther Goeman. David was a resident of Yolo County for 59 years where he graduated from Esparto High and worked in agriculture for 20 years. His true passion was building and remodeling. He was a successful self-employed General Contractor for over 20 years and had a special gift, and enjoyed sitting down and helping people create something beautiful. Working with his son's and grandson's in business gave him great joy. Family always came first and he loved spending time and doing things with his family, but most of all he loved traveling with Marlene. David touched many lives with his generosity, honesty and genuine friendship. He traveled up and down Hwy 16 daily and his smile and wave will be missed by many.
David is survived by his long-time companion Marlene Miller; son Jeffrey Goeman (Robin); daughter Victoria Sanders; step-daughter Jennifer Prado (Matt); sister's Dorothy Bruce and LaVonne Dunn (Bill); grandchildren Brett Haines (Erin), Jordan Haines, Andrew Goeman, Mallarie Goeman, Dennis Goeman, Cameron Myers, and McKenna Prado; great-grandchildren Cole and Halle Haines; and numerous nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents Heye and Esther Goeman, and son Dennis Goeman.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, June 8, at McNary's Funeral Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland.
