Donald Lee Bierman
Feb. 22, 1938 - Dec. 18, 2013

Born Feb. 22, 1938 in Crosby, Minn., to Everett J. and Vivian C. Bierman, Donald Lee Bierman died on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013 at age 75. He graduated from Anderson Valley High School in Boonville in 1956 and Santa Rosa Junior College in 1958. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Germany for two years.
Don married Sharolyn Tolman in 1961.
He was an operating engineer with Teichert Aggregates and retired in 1998 after 35 years.
Don was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. His greatest joy was attending his grandchildren's school and sporting events and cooking breakfast for his granddaughter Paige every Saturday. He was a longtime member of Willow Oak Fire Department and served as fire commissioner up until the time of his death.
Don is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shari; daughters Tonya and husband Brett Canevari, Chris and husband Wayne Rudi, all of Woodland; four grandchildren, Kristopher Canevari of Chico, Chase Canevari, Alex Rudi and Paige Rudi of Woodland; sister Dewetta MacLeod of Fort Bragg, brothers Claude Bierman of Brookings, Ore., and Bob Bierman and wife Angie of Fort Bragg. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 21, at McNary's Funeral Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland. A reception will follow at Willow Oak Hall, 17535 County Road 97. A private interment will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory can be made to the Willow Oak Community Hall Renovation Project or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
