Ellen Kane Hennigan was born to George and Kattie Hennigan on Jan. 30, 1944, in Woodland. She lived in Yolo County for 60 years. She passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Moses Lake, Wash. She was 68.
Ellen enjoyed spending time with family and friends, good food, and a good time. She had a variety of interests including family vacations, reading, drawing, playing bingo, watching TV and going to the movies. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother.
Ellen is survived by sister Nancy and husband Gene Londan of Oklahoma; three daughters, Debi Welty from Woodland, Tina and husband Michael Sims of Moses Lake, Wash., Nanci and husband Tom Aletto of Woodland, son James L. Welty III of Spokane, Wash.; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by extended family members Peggy, Jennifer and Brian Welty of Woodland, and their four children.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, James L. Welty of Woodland, nine brothers and several other family members..
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, at the Woodland Cemetery, 800 West St., Woodland. Pastor Roy Postell of Homeward Bound Outreach will be officiating.
