Elmer Pfaffenberger was born in Antioch, CA on July 29, 1929 and passed away in Woodland on Aug. 19 at the age of 85.
He received his Bachelors from Stanford and his Masters from San Jose State and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
Elmer was a Woodland High School
for 30 years, and was inducted into the Woodland High Sports Hall of Fame. He drove a Community Care Car, volunteered at the Yolo County Fair, and was a member of Life Pointe Church in Woodland.
He is loved by daughters, Diane Frank (Brian) and Donna Hollis (Marc); son, David Pfaffenberger (Emily); 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Carol Jean, in 1997.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23 from 3 to 6 p.m., at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St. in Woodland. A private graveside service and burial will take place on Monday, Aug. 25, at Monument Hill Memorial Park. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Sept. 20 at 1 p.m., at Woodland Christian Church, 509 College Street.
