Fred George Grischott

Our loving Papa, Fred George Grischott II, born and raised in Stockton, son of Jessie Leigh and Fred George Grischott I, passed away at home, peacefully on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, in Stockton. Upon graduation from Stockton High, Fred served five years in the Asiatic Pacific in WWII as a staff sergeant. As a member of the Teamsters, he worked for Lodi Truck Service and also owned and managed numerous properties.
Fred was married to his beautiful wife, Alberta Grischott for 63 years. An avid hunter, fisherman and adventurer, his exuberance and living life to the fullest enriched the lives of family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife Alberta; sons Fred Grischott and wife Kellie, Russell Grischott and wife Nair; daughter Lori and husband Larry Germer; sister Nellie Watkins; 10 grandchildren, Fred, Nathan, Russell, Mariah and Dalton Grischott and William, Russell and J.D. Legg, Kelleen Barham and Kristofer Khan; 13 great-grandchildren; and many, many nephews and nieces. The Grischott family immigrated to Stockton in 1961.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m., today, Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Park View Cemetery, 3661 E. French Camp. A reception will be held immediately following at the Elks Lodge on Thornton Road, Stockton.
